New Ocean Rise Launches Shipping Route Linking Jeddah with Key Ports Across Japan, China, Europe

A new maritime service is strengthening global trade links for Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has introduced the Ocean Rise shipping line, operated by CMA CGM, at Jeddah Islamic Port. This move is designed to expand the Kingdom’s connectivity with key international markets while supporting the steady growth of imports and exports through partnerships with leading global shipping companies.

The Ocean Rise service connects Jeddah to several major ports worldwide. In Japan, it links to Kobe, Nagoya, and Yokohama. In China, it serves Xiamen, Yantian, and Nansha. The route also extends to key European hubs, including Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Southampton.
With a capacity of up to 3,001 TEUs, the service plays a role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy, reinforcing its ambition to become a global logistics hub bridging Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Jeddah Islamic Port continues to be a vital center for regional trade. It features 62 multi-purpose berths and can handle up to 130 million tons of cargo. Moreover, the port is equipped with modern container terminals, a dedicated logistics zone for bonded and re-export goods, and an efficient trucking system that helps streamline cargo movement.
