The process begins with the acceptance of the aircraft’s type certificate issued by the state of design, including a detailed review of technical and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with national standards. This is followed by the issuance of an airworthiness certificate for each aircraft, confirming conformity with the approved design, readiness of systems and equipment, and adherence to GACA regulations. The process also includes the approval of maintenance and operational programs, as well as verification of the readiness of approved maintenance organizations to support the new aircraft type in accordance with aviation safety requirements.
The Authority noted that regulatory oversight continues beyond initial certification, encompassing ongoing monitoring of air operators and approved maintenance organizations to ensure sustained compliance with national and international aviation safety standards under the Civil Aviation Law and its implementing regulations.

The introduction of the Airbus A321XLR aligns with GACA’s commitment to fostering a safe, efficient, and sustainable aviation ecosystem. By enabling operators to adopt the latest technologies and operational solutions.
