Riyadh will stage the second edition of the Asian Lacrosse Games from February 1 to 5, bringing together four national teams, Iraq, Pakistan, India, and host nation Saudi Arabia, for a landmark regional competition, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Organized by the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, the tournament’s organizational and technical preparations finalized, promising a unique event that showcases the Kingdom’s advancing sports sector.
Fahd Al‑Arifi, CEO of the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, underscored that the Kingdom’s hosting of the championship stands as a testament to the broad support enjoyed by the sports sector.
He also mentioned that the event aligns with the ambitious objective of the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify athletic disciplines, broaden participation, and solidify the Kingdom’s position as a prestigious destination for continental and international tournaments.
Moreover, Al‑Arifi noted that the championship marks a significant milestone in the growth of lacrosse both locally and regionally.
As one of the world’s oldest team sports with origins in North America, Lacrosse is known for its speed, skill, and reliance on fitness and teamwork.
In recent years, the game has gained momentum across Asia, with a growing enthusiasm for hosting regional and continental championships.
