Deal or Strike: Trump Renews Military Action Threats to Iran

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday renewed his threats to Iran, urging Tehran to negotiate a nuclear deal or face a potential US military action.

“A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose. It is a larger fleet, headed by the great Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, than that sent to Venezuela,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He hoped that Iran would “quickly “Come to the Table” and negotiate a fair and equitable deal – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – one that is good for all parties, warning that “time is running out.”

Moreover, Trump threatened Iran that the next attack “will be far worse” than the US strikes on the country’s key nuclear facilities, which took place during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel in June 2025.

Trump’s post came as the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, dismissed reports that Tehran requested negotiations with the US, saying he had no direct contact with Trump’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff.

He also rejected US military threats to Iran. “If they want negotiations to take shape, they must certainly set aside threats, excessive demands and the raising of irrational issues,” Araghchi said.

Trump on Monday suggested that Iran wants to make a deal with the US, as the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group arrived in the Middle East amid a US military buildup in the region.

Importantly, Saudi Arabia emphasized its respect for Iranian sovereignty, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). During a call with Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed that the Kingdom will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for any military actions against Iran or for any attacks from any party, regardless of their destination.
