UAE Bars Use of Its Territory for Strikes on Iran

The Emirati Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday that the UAE would not allow attacks on Iran to be launched from its territory, according to AFP.

A senior Iranian official warned on Friday that Tehran would regard any attack “as an all-out war against us,” as a US aircraft carrier strike group and other military assets are heading to the Middle East in the coming days.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump said that an “armada” of American forces was heading toward Iran.

The Foreign Ministry also added in a statement it “has reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to not allowing its airspace, territory or waters to be used in any hostile military actions against Iran.”

The UAE hosts a significant contingent of American forces at Al-Dhafra Air Base, strategically positioned near the capital, Abu Dhabi. It represents one of several key U.S. military installations in the Gulf.

The UAE also rejected to provide any logistical support for military strikes. Meanwhile, it underscored that “dialogue, de-escalation, adherence to international law, and respect for state sovereignty” are the most effective solutions for confronting the region’s current crises.
