2nd Edition of New Global Sport Conference: E-Sports Leaders Lead Way

The second edition of the New Global Sport Conference 2024 (NGSC24) started on Saturday in Riyadh. The two-day event will explore “The Future of Fandom,” focusing on trends and strategies in esports to enhance global communities.

On the first day of the conference, a session titled “Gaming and Sports as the Kingdom’s Gateway to the World” was held. Moreover, the session was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF), Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan; Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha.

Another session, titled “How Esports is Shaping the Next Chapter of Olympic History,” discussed the historic steps taken by the gaming and esports sector to align with the broader sports industry.

The conference included four sessions with top entrepreneurs, experts, and global CEOs from esports, sports, technology, entertainment, business, and investment.

New Global Sport Conference continues with six more sessions on Sunday. It highlights esports’ positive impact on other industries from a niche subculture into a global phenomenon.

Esports have transformed from a niche pastime into a worldwide phenomenon.  Additionally, it is revolutionizing traditional industries and impacting strategic planning, investment, broadcasting rights, sponsorship, marketing, and event management. There are more 3.4 billion gamers and approximately 234 million esports players globally.

Under Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom has become a leader in gaming and esports by implementing a national strategy. Finally, this move highlights its commitment to innovation and its ambition to lead in the global gaming scene.
