The President of the Asian Football Confederation, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, has voiced support for Saudi Arabia’s candidacy. During a special general assembly of the Asian Confederation on Wednesday, Sheikh Salman expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia’s capability to host a remarkable tournament, potentially even surpassing Qatar’s success. He praised Saudi Arabia’s vast advancements not only in football but in various domains, indicating a promising outlook for the 2034 World Cup bid.
Notably, Indonesia’s football federation (PSSI) has announced its support for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
This decision comes just a week after PSSI president, Erick Thohir, revealed talks with Australia regarding a potential joint bid for the prestigious tournament. With FIFA inviting bids from Asia and Oceania for the 2034 Cup, the competition for hosting rights is heating up.
“Indonesia supports Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034,” declared PSSI president Erick Thohir in an official statement.
He also emphasized that Indonesia is actively preparing its own bid to host the World Cup in the future, along with other FIFA competitions.
