Why King Abdulaziz Has Changed A Line of Poetry in His Castle

The King Abdulaziz House revealed the secret of changing King Abdul Aziz with a line of poetry written in the reception hall of Al-Hakam Palace in Riyadh.

Al-Dara quoted from the historian Amin al-Rihani as he is saying in his book that “Kings of the Arabs”, that he noticed upon entering the palace that there were two verses of poetry, which read: “We do not honor our first ones; one day on the genealogies we depend; we build as our first ones; build and do above what they did.”

The Rihani historian recorded a note before King Abdulaziz that the last part is correct and “adopt and do as they did,” but that King Abdulaziz told him that he was the one who asked to amend it in that manner because his goal is not just to do as the past people, but better than them.

He pointed out that this indicates the vision of King Abdulaziz in the future of the Kingdom, and that there is a great development awaiting it, as he used to accept many new inventions.
