The Visual Arts Authority, in collaboration with the Fashion Authority, concluded the third edition of the second session of the “Art and Fashion” event with a new concept. The residency will open its doors to the public during the open studio event at Studio H18 in the Jax district of Diriyah from October 2 to 3.
This will allow visitors to interact directly with the artists and their works, enjoy completed pieces that embody the refined visions of the artists, or explore the exciting beginnings of long-term research projects.
The “Art and Fashion” meeting included 15 creative residents who dedicated more than two months to experimentation and collaboration. This resulted in personal projects that will be showcased during the open studio event, with each project offering a unique exploration of themes ranging from heritage and memory to the beauty of Saudi landscapes.
The “Art and Fashion Encounter” is a new program that includes a multi-session artistic residency in the Jax district of Diriyah. Moreover, it offers a creative platform for emerging and mid-career creators, including Saudis, residents, and international participants, to experiment across various disciplines. This initiative highlights the Visual Arts Authority and the Fashion Authority’s commitment to nurturing local and international talent. It also aims to enhance collaboration among creative professionals in visual arts, fashion design, and artistic evaluation.
Finally, the continued development of the Encounter residency program paves the way for future initiatives that will enrich the cultural landscape in the Kingdom.
