Trump Unveils ‘Board of Peace’ at Davos Amidst Controversy

US President Donald Trump will unveil his “Board of Peace” at Davos on Thursday after withdrawing his recent threats against the island of Greenland. This move aims to cement his legacy as a global peacemaker despite significant skepticism from long-standing European allies. Trump abruptly scrapped European tariffs on Wednesday, effectively defusing a diplomatic crisis that had previously rattled the global elite.

The President will now host a signing ceremony for the charter of this fledgling and controversial international conflict resolution body. Consequently, permanent membership for the board carries a staggering $1 billion price tag for any nation wishing to join. Trump already invited prominent leaders like Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu to participate in this exclusive and expensive new group. Furthermore, the President claims this initiative represents the greatest board ever formed in the history of modern international relations.

Global Ambitions and Rivalries

The board originally focused on Gaza, but its new charter suggests a much broader role that rivals the United Nations. While Britain and France remain skeptical, nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar have already committed to joining the organization. A senior official confirmed that thirty-five world leaders accepted invitations out of the fifty total requests sent by the administration. Trump maintains that this body will resolve conflicts faster than any traditional diplomatic channel currently operating on the world stage.

Trump plans to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today following the conclusion of the formal “Board of Peace” ceremony. He recently suggested that both Russia and Ukraine would be “stupid” to avoid a deal in their ongoing bloody conflict. Although the Kremlin claims it is still studying the invitation, Trump insists that Putin remains eager to join the board. Meanwhile, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Moscow to continue these high-stakes negotiations with Russia.

The President recently reached a “framework deal” with NATO chief Mark Rutte to waive upcoming tariffs on European goods. Trump still insists that the mineral-rich Arctic remains vital for the security of the United States against Russia and China. However, he has shifted his immediate focus toward this new board to demonstrate his influence over the world’s power brokers.
