Trump Arrives in Israel to Celebrate Ceasefire, Hostage Deal

US President Donald Trump landed in Israel on Monday to celebrate the ceasefire and hostage deal brokered by the US to end Gaza War, according to AP.

Before landing at Ben-Gurion International Airport, Air Force One flew over Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, where tens of thousands of people had gathered to receive the Israeli hostages released by Hamas.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog and his Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Trump, his daughter, and US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner upon their arrival in the airport.

Trump is scheduled to address the Knesset later on Monday.

Meanwhile, Herzog unveiled that Trump will also be awarded Israel’s highest civilian honor later this year, in recognition of his contributions to ensuring peace and stability in the region.

“The war is over,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he flew from Washington to Israel on Sunday.

Trump will then head to Egypt where he will co-chair Gaza peace summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, with the participation of several world leaders.
