Taibah University in Medina has registered two patented inventions approved by the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. These inventions include an advanced automatic fire extinguishing system and a technology that facilitates the weaving of heavy fabrics using cold plasma technology.
The automatic fire extinguishing system puts off fires without damaging water-sensitive materials such as electronics, books, and equipment. This is achieved through the use of water- and fire-resistant fabric installed in the form of electronic roller curtains. These curtains are deployed in the event of a fire to cover and protect shelves from damage.

The second invention, a system for weaving heavy fabrics, aims to advance a new generation of industrial sewing machines. Moreover, these machines offer faster stitching rates, extended operational lifespan, and reduced electrical energy consumption, thanks to the incorporation of cold plasma technology.
It is noteworthy that both inventions were developed by specialized teams composed of faculty members and students from the university. These efforts align with the university’s vision and mission to excel in education, training, research, and innovation.
