Snow Covers Jabal Al-Lawz Mountains again in February

Yesterday marked the second snowfall of February in the  Al-Lawz mountains, northwest of Tabuk city, amidst an unusually warm climate this year. This warmth led to a more than two-month delay in snowfall compared to 2023.

This picture showcases the mountains adorned in white at approximately 2600 meters above sea level. residents and expatriates wait for this scene eagerly each year.

Unusual Winter Conditions in Al-Lawz Mountains

The occurrence of snow in the Al-Lawz mountains is particularly noteworthy this year, given the relatively warmer climate experienced in the region.

The NCM links this unusual weather to rapid pattern shifts and the lack of moist winds, notably in the north. Consequently, this led to a warmer atmosphere without significant temperature drops.
