Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Hanan bint Abdulrahim Al-Ahmadi, met in Riyadh with David McAllister, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, along with his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ahmadi emphasized the strong and growing relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the European Union. She highlighted the significance of enhancing cooperation between the Shura Council and the European Parliament to advance shared interests and promote mutual understanding through parliamentary diplomacy.
She also stressed the important role of parliamentarians in fostering and strengthening bilateral relations. Dr. Al-Ahmadi outlined the Shura Council’s key contributions through its legislative, oversight, and parliamentary responsibilities and commended the Kingdom’s ongoing progress in various sectors under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.
The discussions addressed a range of topics of mutual concern and explored avenues to deepen parliamentary collaboration between the two bodies. Both parties agreed on the value of continued dialogue and regular bilateral meetings to support broader cooperation.
