Saudi Water Authority to Launch ‘Water Hackathon’ during Innovation Conference
The Saudi Water Authority announced that the 3rd Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference will take place in Jeddah from November 25 to 27, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Under the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, the conference will highlight the participation of several experts and innovators from more than 20 countries around the world.
The event is anticipated to welcome 2,000 visitors, and more than 40 entities during the accompanying exhibition to foster cooperation and partnership with various sectors. The coming edition will basically focus on unleashing new untapped horizons to boost innovation, technologies, water solutions and sustainability.
Through various sessions and meetings, the conference will discuss the latest global practices and innovative solutions in the water industry, with the participation of more than 280 experts, scientists and specialists.
The conference will feature, for the first time, the launch of the “Water Hackathon”, organized by the Saudi Water Innovation Center, in collaboration with the most prominent entities of the water sector across the Kingdom.
The “Water Hackathon” has set the following objectives, as follows:
- Creating global competitions
- Enhancing the concepts of innovation and sustainability solutions among the participating teams
- Developing solutions and technologies to address water challenges
- Fostering cooperation between innovators from all over the world
- Exchanging effective ideas and solutions
- Strengthening the potential for sustainability, water security and environment
The Authority also unveiled that 2024 edition will honor numerous innovators in the Saudi water sector in recognition of their unwavering efforts to promote water sustainability in the Kingdom.
