Saudi Arabia’s scientific teams are enjoying an outstanding 2025 season, competing in 26 international Olympiads across 23 countries, alongside participants from more than 120 nations. These prestigious competitions cover diverse fields such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics, artificial intelligence, nuclear science, astronomy and astrophysics, and standards and specifications.

From April to mid-September, Saudi students secured 91 international honors—including five gold, 22 silver, 40 bronze medals, and 24 certificates of appreciation. The Kingdom ranked first among Arab nations, underscoring its growing prominence on the global scientific stage.

This remarkable success stems from a robust national strategy to identify, nurture, and empower gifted students. Spearheaded by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program—running through November—equips general education students with world-class skills and support.

The program’s mission is to enhance Saudi Arabia’s presence in international scientific forums while fostering excellence, critical thinking, and innovation among young talents.
