The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on Wednesday received his Omani counterpart, Badr Albusaidi, in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During their meeting, the two ministers reviewed Saudi-Omani relations and explored ways to further strengthen ties across various fields.
Moreover, both officials discussed the latest developments in the region, stressing the urgency of continuing efforts aimed at achieving regional security and stability.
According to Oman’s Foreign Ministry, the talks between the Saudi and Omani Foreign Ministers focused on the recent developments in Yemen and their implications on the regional security and stability.
In the light of this, their talks discussed efforts to contain escalation and ways to support a political path toward addressing the roots of this crisis and achieving a comprehensive and sustainable settlement that safeguards Yemen’s sovereignty, security and stability.
They also stressed that this settlement must take into considerations the aspirations of its people as well as the national security of Yemen’s neighboring countries and the entire region.
On December 30, 2025, Saudi-led Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen conducted a limited airstrike targeting weapons shipments transported to Mukalla port in Yemen’s eastern province of Hadramout, destined for the Southern Transitional Council (STC).
It said the shipments came from the Port of Fujairah in the UAE without obtaining permits from the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition.
Furthermore, the Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing disappointment over the recent actions by the UAE in eastern Yemen, which pose a threat to the Kingdom’s national security and undermine Yemen’s stability.
In response, the UAE announced the termination of its remaining counterterrorism personnel in Yemen voluntarily, underscoring its unwavering commitment to the security and stability of Saudi Arabia.
