The Saudi Minister of the National Guard, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, inspected the military readiness of the Ministry’s forces for the Hajj season, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
This move comes in line with the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership to ensure the security of Hajj, in conformity with the Ministry’s responsibilities, and in coordination with other security sectors.
During his visit to the National Guard Forces Field in Al Sharia in Makkah on Wednesday, the Minister watched a military parade under the theme “Ease and Reassurance.”
Moreover, Prince Abdullah watched a visual summary of the tasks carried out by the National Guard Forces in the western sector.
The Ministry’s forces participating in the Hajj season effectively carry out various tasks in Makkah, the holy sites, and Madinah, as part of military, security and government sectors’ efforts.
Upon his arrival at the ceremony venue, the National Guard Minister was received by Acting Representative of the National Guard, Major General, Saleh bin Abdulrahman Al-Harbi; and Assistant Undersecretary of the National Guard for the Military Service in the Western Sector, Major General Abdullah bin Ali Al-Tuwaijri, in addition to a number of officials.
During Hajj season, the mission of the National Guard Forces includes security and health tasks. The Ministry announced the completion of its plans for the Hajj season, through providing various services to pilgrims under the supervision of Prince Abdullah bin Bandar.
The security tasks of the National Guard Forces involve ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims in the holy sites throughout the Hajj journey and facilitating their transportation. Meanwhile, the health tasks involve securing medical services for pilgrims via the Ministry’s facilities.
