Saudi National Day: Cities in Kingdom get festive for an annual celebration

The Saudi National Day comes this year under the slogan “It is our home”, which will continue for 9 days in various regions of the Kingdom from 18 to 26 September.

It represents the anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom under its current name by its founder, King Abdulaziz Al Saud.

National Day with New Cities

The Saudi National Day this year has many new cities established in modern Saudi Arabia. Prince Mohammed bin Salman City is considered the first non-profit city in the world, and an inspiring model for the development of the non-profit sector globally. It comes as an extension of the comprehensiveness of the 2030 vision.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched the Riyadh city strategy intending to make Riyadh one of the 10 largest city economies in the world.

“Riyadh City” is considered a very big opportunity to create economic, industrial, and tourism growth in Saudi Arabia. It aims to develop its infrastructure and raise the quality of life because Riyadh’s strategy will be ambitious and surprising positively for the Saudis and the world.

The launch of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman non-profit city project will be the first non-profit city in the world. The city is an inspiring model for the development of the non-profit sector globally, and an incubator for many youths and volunteer groups as well as local and international non-profit institutions.

The first non-profit city of its kind will contribute to achieving the goals of the Mohammed bin Salman “Misk Charity” Foundation in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and qualifying future leaders, through the opportunities it will provide and training programs for young people and girls.

The city adopts the concept of digital compatibility. It will host many academies, colleges, and Misk schools. It will include a conference center, a science museum, and the Innovation Center to be a space to realize the aspirations of innovators in science and technology with advanced systems such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, and robotics, as well as an art institute and exhibition

Prince Mohammed bin Salman is one of the first non-profit cities of its kind. The master plan of the city embodies an advanced digital metropolis centered on people. The city is also designed to be sustainable and pedestrian-friendly, in addition to allocating more than (44%) of the total area as open green spaces to contribute to promoting sustainable development.

The National Day will include many shows:-

The biggest air show

Saudi fighter jets, and military and civil aircraft will present the largest air show in the history of the Kingdom under the slogan “A homeland salute”, which will be launched in various regions of the Kingdom to cover 13 major cities.

Over 10 days, the Royal Saudi Air Force will carry out air shows with Typhoon, F-15S, Tornado, and F-15C aircraft in 14 cities.

The National Day air shows will cover 13 cities in the Kingdom, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Dammam, and Jubail, as well as air shows in the cities of Al-Ahsa, Taif, Tabuk, and Abha, in addition to flying in the sky of the cities of Sarat Ubaidah, Tamniyah, Khamis Mushait, and Al Baha.

Naval Shows

The Royal Saudi Naval Forces will carry out activities on National Day in both the Jeddah waterfront and Al Fanateer Beach in Jubail, where there will be a large parade of private maritime security group boats.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Guard will participate in several helicopters at the beginning of the air show, in conjunction with security aviation helicopters, one of which will carry the Saudi flag on a tour that extends for about half an hour.

Border Guard Command

The Border Guard Command in the Makkah and Sharqiah regions will participate in the National Day celebrations by reviewing several marine vehicles such as ships, boats, and multi-mission and size hovercraft in a marine march.

The capital, Riyadh, and the city of Jeddah will witness a special event, represented by the launch of a procession and cavalry of the Royal Guard on a tour of the main roads, to form a majestic national procession that shares citizens’ joy, with the participation of the Saudi royal anthem band and classic cars headed by the Royal Guard.

Military shows

The Ministry of Interior will participate in the National Day celebrations with qualitative participation and live interactive events, titled (Ezzies of the Nation), which include cognitive ideas and entertainment surprises, aimed at creating a rich and personal experience for visitors, and enabling them to know the ministry’s path in building its security system and developing its capabilities and services.

The events will include a theater that simulates virtual reality, and embodies a mental image of the sacrifices of security men, with the participation of elite security sector employees, in addition to some accompanying military performances that contribute to enriching the knowledge and security aspects of the visitors.

The Ministry’s military band will present several live musical performances that reflect an original creative aspect of this occasion.

 

Entertainment festivals

Over 4 consecutive days, the regions of the Kingdom will host 12 entertainment festivals, starting from September 21-24, which will form huge festive carnivals that celebrate the history of the Kingdom and its authentic national heritage.

Fireworks

The sky of Riyadh will shine with colors of joy, to celebrate the “92nd Saudi National Day”, at 9:00 pm, at Al-Thaghra Plaza.

The entertainment games are mixed with national projects in the festival sites through 8 games available to the public, where the game of shooting the target to insert the ball into the basket is similar to the Qiddiya project, and the balloon popping game symbolizes the explosion of youthful creativity, while the game of “shooting” reflects the “The Line” project in Neom.

Cirque du Soleil special show

For the first time, Cirque du Soleil presents a show in one of its largest international solo shows, designed specifically for the 92nd Saudi National Day, as it launches in a tent prepared for the circus at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, under the title “The Wealth of a Nation”, for 4 consecutive days in The period from 21 to 24 September.

Cirque du Soleil, which has been working for seven months, weaves an amazing artistic and surreal tapestry in a world where the impossible becomes possible, where gravity-defying acrobatics and daring performances are unveiled for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to tell the story of the rich national culture For the Kingdom, its people, its values ​​and its future dreams.

A national operetta in Medina

The operetta of the 92nd Saudi National Day forms an artistic epic that narrates the Kingdom’s march through its authentic history. It will celebrate its cultural heritage through various performing arts and folkloric paintings that simulate the enormous cultural diversity that the Kingdom embraces.

Musical concerts by the stars

The stars of Gulf and Arab music will perform patriotic concerts on the occasion of the 92nd Saudi National Day, on top of which is the joyful concert performed by the artist Majid Al-Muhandis on September 22 in Qassim in King Abdullah Sports City.
