Saudi Ministry of Interior warns about toxins danger

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate for Drug Control, participated in the celebration of the International Day of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Saturday, under the slogan Share facts about drugs – save lives.

The participation of the Ministry of Interior brought up the importance of that occasion and preserving members of society from loss and homelessness due to the dangerous scourge and its psychological, social, and other effects.

Therefore, societies should be aware of the great danger and harms of drugs, identify the symptoms of drug addiction among drug users, and list the means to avoid falling into drug addiction through proper socialization and meeting the needs of young people at an early age.

The Ministry of Interior is keen to raising awareness of the main problem caused by illegal drugs in society and to promoting international collaboration.

Through Twitter, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, participated in the efforts of the security authorities in confronting more than 90 million pills of drugs that were on their way to the Kingdom.

He said: “In just three months, the competent authorities were able to seize and thwart the smuggling of more than 90 million amphetamine pills, 7.9 tons of hashish, and 5.5kg of cocaine. Continuous coordination and external cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries result in proactive operations that thwart smuggling these toxins.”
