Saudi Heritage Commission Wins 2025 New York Product Design Award

Saudi Arabia’s Heritage Commission has achieved a new international milestone, securing a Silver Award at the 2025 New York Product Design Awards, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The award comes in recognition of Al-Qaayed Craft Mural, one of the flagship creations of the Artisans House in the Jazan Region.

This achievement coincides with the Year of Handicrafts 2025, a national initiative launched by Saudi Arabia to revive traditional crafts, highlight their cultural significance, and underscore their contributions to the creative economy.

By winning this award, the commission emphasizes its capability to present Saudi crafts in contemporary styles that keep pace with the spirit of innovation and showcase the richness of the national identity.

With this latest win, the Heritage Commission has brought its awards tally for 2025 to six, including five international honors and one regional recognition.

Since its establishment, the commission has won a total of 13 accolades across the fields of heritage, handicrafts, and design.

The commission noted that this recognition stands as a testament to its ongoing commitment to preserving and elevating handicrafts as part of the framework of the Year of Handicrafts 2025.

It also highlights the integration of efforts by the commission’s specialized teams and the expansion of its local and international partnerships, which seek to support male and female artisans, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
