Saudi Foreign Minister condemns International silence towards Iran’s behavior
The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, said that there is “an international silence towards Iran’s behavior in the Middle East region,”.
In his speech to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, the Foreign Minister affirmed on Monday, “the Kingdom’s commitment to support disarmament efforts in the Middle East region,”.
He expressed Saudi’s concern about the “stalemate and stumbling block facing the tasks of the Conference on Disarmament,”.
The minister stated that “Saudi Arabia has signed international agreements and national legislation in order to activate the efforts of disarmament programs,”.
On Friday, after visiting the Prince Sultan Air Force Base, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed in a tweet on Twitter that the visit comes to reaffirm US’s intention to stand with Saudi Arabia in the face of Iranian attacks.
Hours later, Pompeo tweeted that he discussed with King Salman the face of Iran’s behavior and the need for regional cooperation.
On Friday, the Saudi foreign minister stressed the need to continue to pressure Iran to stop its interference in the affairs of the countries of the region.
