Saudi Females, Haya & Rana, Qualify For The Semi-finals of the Arab Badminton Cup
Haya Al-Madrada and Rana Abu Harbash, both players of the Saudi women’s badminton team, qualified for the Arab Badminton Cup doubles semi-finals.
They beat the pair of the UAE national team Kawthar Al Sayegh and Bushra Najjar, 2-0, in the quarter-finals of the tournament hosted by the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The two Saudi participants are set to face their Jordanian counterparts in the tournament’s semi-finals.
It’s worth noting that the Saudi women’s badminton team’s participation is the first of its kind in the Arab world. It also indicates the Saudi Badminton Federation’s desire and support for women’s sports.
For her part, the Saudi women’s national team player, Haya Al-Madrada, expressed her happiness for her participation in the tournament and the distinguished level that she presented.
