Saudi-EU Investment Forum Highlights Transportation and Logistics

The Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser, at the Saudi-European Investment Forum, highlighted that the Kingdom aims to increase the number of pilgrims and Umrah visitors to over 30 million, and tourists to over 100 million annually, in alignment with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.

Emphasizing current focuses, Al-Jasser stated that priorities include enhancing life quality, ensuring seamless services for individuals, and avoiding repetition of traditional or impractical models.

Ambitious Saudi Investments

Al-Jasser affirmed the Kingdom’s high aspirations and capabilities, complemented by competitive national teams. He revealed plans for investments worth 1.6 trillion Saudi Riyals over the next decade, through partnerships with the private sector and several countries. This includes the development of two major aviation centers, supporting citizen needs, and connecting the Kingdom to 250 global tourist destinations.

Strengthening Saudi-EU Collaborations

The forum showcases shared investment opportunities between Saudi Arabia and the European Union in various sectors, including transport and logistics, aiming to foster investments, strengthen relations, economic integration, and facilitate knowledge exchange.

Notably, the Saudi-EU Investment Forum, a significant initiative, was inaugurated by Saudi Investment Minister Engineer Khalid bin Al-Falih in Riyadh, marking a new chapter in Saudi-European economic relations.

The Saudi Investment Minister Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih inaugurated the forum, showcasing the strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and European Union countries.

The event, held in Riyadh, saw the participation of more than 1000 representatives from both the government and private sectors, alongside the executives of major companies from the Kingdom and EU countries.

Trade, Investments

Minister Al-Falih emphasized the strong partnership with EU countries, with over 1300 European companies investing in the Kingdom.

The direct foreign investment from the EU showed robust growth in 2022 compared to the previous year, across various sectors.

Trade volume between the Kingdom and the EU reached 80 billion euros during the same period, representing a 30% annual growth​.
