Saudi Envoy call for international stance to combat climate change
The Saudi envoy for climate affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, called on (Friday) for working seriously on a joint and effective international response strategy and mobilizing all efforts to confront the challenges of climate change.
Al-Jubeir, while heading the Saudi delegation participating in the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate (MEF), stressed the need to take into account the special circumstances faced by the least developed countries, and support them to confront the negative effects of climate change policies.
The Saudi minister reviewed his country’s efforts, and its local, international, and regional initiatives to confront climate challenges, and its vision 2030 sensed those challenges by making the environment and sustainable development one of its main goals.
He affirmed Saudi Arabia’s continued interest and commitment to cooperate with all international and regional partners to combat climate change and contribute to achieving global goals to create a better environment for future generations.
