Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman arrived in Tehran on Thursday for an official visit, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The visit comes ahead of expected weekend talks between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear programme.
“Upon directives of the Saudi leadership, Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and his accompanying delegation arrived today in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on an official visit,” SPA said in a statement.
Prince Khalid is expected to hold several meetings with Iranian officials to discuss bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest, the agency added.
