Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held talks in Jeddah on Friday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, focusing on bilateral relations between the two nations. The two leaders also addressed regional and international developments, particularly the military escalation in the Middle East and the latest developments in the Ukrainian crisis, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Senior Saudi officials attended the meeting, including National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban and President of the General Intelligence Presidency Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan. Ukrainian officials present included Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov.
The Crown Prince and Zelenskyy “reviewed relations between the two countries and discussed regional and international developments,” SPA added. Zelenskyy had arrived in the Kingdom on Thursday, a day before the talks.
A Diplomatic Hub
The Jeddah meeting underscores the Kingdom’s growing role as a diplomatic mediator amid regional turbulence. Transitioning from bilateral affairs, the two sides exchanged views on efforts to de-escalate tensions across the Middle East. Additionally, they explored avenues for continued coordination on the war in Ukraine, where Saudi Arabia has previously facilitated prisoner exchanges and hosted dialogue forums.
