Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, welcomed Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, at the Royal Court at Al Salam Palace, as they discussed the situation in Gaza, according to Al Arabiya.
The two sides discussed the dangerous developments in Gaza and its surroundings, and the international efforts to stop the Israeli military operations.
They stressed the importance of the international community playing its role in pressuring Israel to stop its war on Gaza, abide by international laws, and allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza without delay..
Moreover, they tackled dealing with Israeli operations’ security and humanitarian repercussions, and advancing the peace process in accordance with the resolutions of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly as well as the Arab Peace Initiative. This initiative aims to finding a just and comprehensive solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Bin Salman and Sanchez discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance aspects of bilateral cooperation in various fields, in addition to developments of regional and international events of mutual interest.
Last February, Bin Salman received a written message from King Felipe VI of Spain concerning the special relations between the two countries, reported Saudi Press Agency.
The letter to the Saudi Crown Prince included ways to enhance coordination and consultation in various fields.
The Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received the letter as he welcomed the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Albares at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments on the regional, international scenes and the efforts made regarding them.
