The Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, on Wednesday received Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Jeddah, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
Both leaders held a meeting, during which they discussed the recent developments in the region, with a particular focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, reported Jordan News Agency (Petra) citing a royal court statement.
In the light of this, King Abdullah II praised Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in defending Arab and Muslim Causes. Moreover, the Jordanian King expressed his pride in the deep-rooted relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan. He also showed interest in strengthening coordination in areas of mutual interest.
According to Petra, the meeting saw the attendance of several senior Saudi officials, including the Saudi Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman; and the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. Furthermore, the Jordanian Crown Prince, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, attended the meeting.
King Abdullah II and his accompanying delegation arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday. The deputy governor of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, warmly received them at King Abdulaziz International Airport, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). After meeting the Saudi Crown Prince, the Jordanian King and his accompanying delegation left Jeddah.
