Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman headed to the Qatari capital, Doha, on Monday, to lead the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the emergency Arab-Islamic summit, according to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat Newspaper.
The Saudi delegation will also take part in the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Royal Court reported.
With the participation of Arab and Islamic leaders, the summit will discuss how to collectively respond to the Israeli airstrikes on Qatar on September 9.
On Sunday, Doha also hosted a preparatory meeting for foreign ministers and representatives from 57 Arab and Islamic countries.
The meeting delved into a draft statement regarding the Israeli attack on Qatar, which targeted the residential headquarters of several Hamas leaders in the capital.
Qatar, which has hosted several rounds of ceasefire talks, described the attack as an act of “state terror,” noting that Benjamin Netanyahu has “killed any hope” of a deal to release all the Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and labeled it as an “aggressive act.”
The ministry also emphasized the Kingdom’s solidarity with Doha and affirmed the necessity for the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
