Hervé Renard, a Frenchman who formerly led Morocco’s national team and is now Saudi Arabia’s head coach, has stated that he will support the “Morocco” players against his nation.
He added that the Moroccan national team deserves to advance to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.
“I coached the Moroccan national team and had a wonderful group of players in a wonderful country. Hervé Renard said to the radio station Monte Carlo, “This team deserves to reach this critical point in the World Cup.”
He added that the Moroccans worked hard to reach this historic achievement.
He pointed out: “They deserve it. This version of the World Cup will remain exceptional.”
The French coach revealed: “Sorry, I was born in France and I have a French passport, but tomorrow I will support the Moroccan national team because these people gave me love and appreciation.”
Herve Renard concluded his words: “In such countries, they either love you or hate you. They have given me many beautiful moral things, so I share this joy with them. I was fortunate to work in Morocco. I wish them success.”
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan national team will face its French counterpart, the defending champion, this Wednesday evening at Al-Bayt Stadium in Al-Khor, Qatar, in the semi-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The winner will have a date with the Argentine national team, which reached the final after its victory over its Croatian counterpart (3-0) yesterday evening, Tuesday, at the “Lusail” stadium.
