Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense called on citizens to follow all instructions and guidelines provided through the National Early Warning Platform whenever emergency alerts are activated, according to the Saudi Gazette.
Authorities instructed the public to stay calm, follow official directions, and seek shelter in the nearest interior room away from windows.
The directorate also urged people to remain indoors and refrain from leaving their buildings until further notice from officials confirming it is safe.
The guidelines further advised residents to avoid open areas and glass-fronted buildings, and refrain from standing on balconies or rooftops.
