Saudi-CARICOM Trade Volume Exceeds 200 Million Riyals

The trade volume between Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries exceeded 203 million Riyals in 2023.

The value of commodity exports was recorded at 102 million Riyals.

Exports

Exports included plastics and their manufactures, machinery and mechanical appliances and parts as well as animal or vegetable fats and oils, copper, dairy produce, and eggs and other edible animal products.

Imports

Meanwhile, the value of commodity imports stood at 100 million Riyals, encompassing medical, optical, and photographic devices, pharmaceutical products and electrical machinery.

Saudi Arabia’s Global Outreach

Since its establishment, Saudi Arabia has been keen on extending bridges of communication with countries worldwide, based on a firm and clear policy of building positive relationships founded on respect, cooperation, and mutual interests.

This principle has consequently led to the Kingdom’s growing interest in establishing relations with CARICOM countries.

It is a clear reflection of Saudi Arabia’s openness to forming partnerships with active blocs in the international community.

Important milestone

Riyadh is set to host the first Saudi summit with Caribbean Association states on Thursday.

This event aims to enhance partnership and open new horizons for cooperation between the two sides.

Summit’s Significance

This high-level involvement underscores the desire to strengthen relationships and demonstrates the participating countries’ recognition of Saudi Arabia’s international stature.

It signifies a commitment to establishing a strategic and ambitious future partnership.

Saudi Participation in CARICOM Activities

Saudi Arabia participated in the ninth Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community last May, held in Guatemala.

Additionally, the Kingdom took part in the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Caribbean Community in New York last September to establish a partnership between the two regional entities.
