Saudi Arabia Unveils Mining Innovation Studio to Drive Sector Transformation

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, in partnership with prominent public and private sector entities, unveiled the Mining Innovation Studio at the Future Minerals Forum 2025 (FMF). This groundbreaking initiative aims to tackle critical challenges within the mining sector using advanced technological solutions. Through this public-private collaboration, the studio seeks to drive innovation, sustainability, and economic growth, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as a global leader in mining and mineral solutions while advancing its Vision 2030 goals of economic diversification and global sustainability leadership.

As Saudi Arabia identifies mining as the third key pillar of its economy and a central element in the energy transition, the Mining Innovation Studio will play a pivotal role in securing the supply of essential minerals for the global energy transition. It  also will support decarbonization initiatives across the mining value chain and help de-risk the development of new mineral and metal applications, accelerating the creation of a low-carbon economy.

The launch of this studio is a collaborative effort among significant stakeholders, including the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Saudi Geological Survey, the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), Newlab (a leading global innovation platform), and Saudi Mining Services Company (ESNAD).

Moreover, the Mining Innovation Studio invites global innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups to leverage Saudi Arabia’s resources and cutting-edge infrastructure to develop and commercialize impactful solutions.

Finally, through this initiative, Saudi Arabia aims to reinforce its position as a leader in mining technology commercialization, supporting the broader objectives of Vision 2030 by fostering economic diversification and sustainability on the global stage.
