Saudi Arabia suspends sporting activity until further notice
The Saudi Ministry of Sports announced the suspension of sports activity in various sports and all tournaments and competitions, and the closure of special halls and sports centers due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.
In its statement, the Ministry indicated that this procedure will start from Sunday until further notice.
The decision comes out of the concern for the public interest and an extension of the continuous efforts made by all government agencies in Saudi Arabia to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus (19-COVID), and take the necessary preventive measures to counter this virus and prevent its spread in order to preserve the safety of citizens and residents in the Kingdom, and accordingly it was suspended sport activities.
The Ministry of Sports had anticipated this step by suspending the mass attendance in all sporting competitions, to limit the spread of the virus, before it completely suspended sports activity on Saturday.
