In a groundbreaking announcement, WWE head Triple H revealed that Wrestlemania, the company’s premier wrestling event, is going global. This event will be the first Wrestlemania to occur outside North America, showcasing WWE’s commitment to expanding its global reach.

Upcoming Events in Saudi Arabia

In addition to Wrestlemania 43, the 39th annual Royal Rumble will take place on 31 January, 2026, in Riyadh. These events are part of a lucrative deal signed between WWE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2018. Since then, WWE has hosted Premium Live Events (PLE) in the Kingdom, thanks to a 10-year agreement worth $50 million per show and $100 million annually.

TKO Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC, plans to strengthen its relationship with Saudi Arabia over the next 6 to 12 months. The company recently launched its own boxing promotion, led by UFC CEO Dana White, Saudi boxing financier Turki Alalshikh, and WWE President Nick Khan. This initiative reflects the growing collaboration between the entertainment and sports sectors in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia’s Sports Ambitions

Wrestlemania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2026, but Saudi Arabia is rapidly gaining prominence in the global sports arena. The Kingdom recently secured the rights to host the World Cup in 2034, further solidifying its status as a major player in international sports. Additionally, the arrival of top footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League highlights the country’s commitment to attracting elite talent.

Saudi Arabia’s hosting of major international sporting events aligns with its Vision 2030 strategy. This initiative aims to diversify the economy, enhance the Kingdom’s global image, and create job opportunities for its citizens. As Saudi Arabia continues to invest in sports, the future looks bright for both the Kingdom and its growing reputation on the world stage.
