Saudi Arabia’s Consulate General in Dubai is making unremitting efforts to provide services to Saudi citizens after suspending flights to and from Dubai Airport as a result of the strong storm that swept UAE, reported Ajel.SA.
Saudi Arabia’s consulate called on citizens affected by the heavy rainfall in UAE to contact the diplomatic office by calling the emergency phone for Saudi affairs or “WhatsApp.”
The United Arab Emirates recorded the heaviest rainfall ever since 1949, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The heavy rains began on Monday night and continued through Tuesday, resulting in over 142mm of rainfall in Dubai alone. Consequently, the rain led to flooding highways and roads, closing schools and canceling flights. People have been advised to stay at home.
Dubai International Airport temporarily suspended travel procedures for departing passengers due to operational challenges caused by unprecedented heavy rains earlier this week. This led to the cancellation, diversion, and delay of numerous flights as airlines worked to adjust their operations.
