The Saudi Central Bank “SAMA,” in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, plans to begin implementing the insurance decision on contracts for the recruitment of domestic employees in March.
The Ministry is finalizing procedures for domestic labor contract insurance, including integrating insurance companies to the “Musaned” platform for labor recruiting, and will issue a decision soon.
The domestic labor contract insurance will help compensate the beneficiary for the value of recruitment charges if the worker ran away or refused to work for the remaining three months of the contract.
The insurance policy covers the domestic worker’s unpaid wages if her sponsor fails to pay her.
Beneficiaries who wish to hire domestic helpers will have the option of securing a recruiting contract.
