The event aims to make the Kingdom a desirable tourist destination and to strengthen partnerships with Saudi and foreign companies.
The development strategy for the Asir area was announced under the motto “Peace and Summits” by HRH Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs in 2021.
The strategy aims to achieve a comprehensive and unprecedented development renaissance for the region by pumping 50 billion riyals into various investments; to finance vital projects and develop tourist attractions on Asir’s lofty peaks; and to make Asir a year-round global destination, relying on its cultural and natural strengths that combine authenticity and modernity and contribute to a sustainable future.
The strategy, according to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to turn the region into a year-round global tourist destination, attracting more than 10 million visitors from within and outside Saudi Arabia by 2030, by utilizing the region’s vast tourism potential, which will be invested through quality tourism projects.
It also aims to draw attention to its tall summits, its geographical and ecological variety, as well as its cultural and heritage riches.
He emphasized that Asir’s approach is to attract investments from both within and beyond the Kingdom, resulting in a more effective economic movement.
