Mecca has recently launched the first edition of a significant map designed basically to provide a smooth access to historical landmarks in the holy capital, according to Gulf News.
Titled “Discover Mecca,” the map features a vast array of historical, cultural, as well as commercial sites.
Meanwhile, it offers brief descriptions to provide visitors and residents with a facilitated access to a vast array of landmarks.
Introduced by the Royal Commission for Mecca City and the Holy Sites, the initiative includes a QR code for users to scan and download the map.
In this context, Commission CEO Saleh Al Rasheed, stated that the launch of the map marks a significant step toward safeguarding historical landmarks, promoting visitor engagement, and elevating the status of these sites as cultural and tourist destinations.
The launch represents an integral part of the Commission’s strategy to ensure the sustainability of historical sites in the holy capital of Mecca.
Interestingly, the commission has also launched an interactive digital version of the map. Therefore, users can easily navigate sites and access real-time updates. Visitors can access the map through the “Discover Mecca” page on the Commission’s official website.
