Saudi Arabia, Japan Discuss Enhancing Cultural Cooperation

Saudi Minister of Culture, Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan, and the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Masahito Moriyama, discussed enhancing cultural cooperation  in light of the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030, reported Saudi Press Agency.

The two ministers met in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, yesterday, Tuesday.

The Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030 represents a translation of a rich history of close cooperation and strategic partnerships between Riyadh and Tokyo.

Bin Farhan praised the cultural cooperation, stressing the importance of strengthening it and expanding its horizons in line with the ambitions of the two countries. He further noted that the Kingdom’s participation at Expo 2025 will offer opportunities to learn more about the culture, history and vision of the Saudis.

Moriyama thanked the Saudi Minister for the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to open new horizons to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries. He pointed out the achievements that resulted from the fruitful partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in many cultural sectors, and stressed that Japan is looking forward to work with the Kingdom to enhance cultural cooperation.

Besides Culture, the two countries have been seeking cooperation in the field of digital economy. Two weeks ago, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Amer Al-Swaha, and Japanese Minister of Digital Transformation, Taro Kono, discussed expanding digital investment opportunities between their countries to support economic growth and innovation.

They reviewed progress on digital projects and joint initiatives under the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030, aiming to accelerate modern technology adoption in government services and localize research and development centers. They also focused on stimulating partnerships to enhance capabilities and foster a technology-driven economy.
