The Saudi Arabian Government has pledged to intensify its efforts in alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations. According to recent disclosures, over $7 billion has been allocated to humanitarian projects across 91 countries. This initiative reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting global unity and support.
These projects, funded through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), aim to address various challenges faced by nations in need. The Consul General of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Khalil Admawy, made these remarks during the official handover ceremony of 50 tons of dates to Kano State Government.
Strengthening International Ties
During the ceremony, Admawy highlighted KSrelief’s goal of supporting vulnerable families throughout Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of strengthening deep-rooted ties between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria. The center has successfully completed over 2,500 projects, benefitting millions across more than 91 countries.
The Consul conveyed the Kingdom’s dedication to humanitarian efforts, expressing gratitude to King Salman bin Abdelaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Their unwavering support for providing aid to underserved communities reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering Islamic solidarity.
Regarding the distribution of dates prior to Ramadan fasting, Admawy shared that this year includes 50 tons for Abuja and 50 tons for Kano and surrounding northern states. Ongoing arrangements ensure these donations reach deserving families as part of Saudi Arabia’s long-standing humanitarian tradition.
Ensuring Proper Distribution
“The Consulate will collaborate with local authorities and humanitarian organizations to guarantee proper distribution of the dates,” Admawy stated. The initiative aims to uplift Muslim communities, mitigate suffering, and foster unity during significant religious periods like Ramadan.
Additionally, Admawy mentioned the upcoming launch of the IFTAR PROGRAMME in Abuja, further exemplifying King Salman bin Abdelaziz’s humanitarian spirit. The Kingdom continues to stand firm in its mission to support those in need, demonstrating its commitment to global welfare.
