Saudi Arabia: Egypt’s security is an integral part of the Kingdom’s security

The Saudi Foreign Ministry asserted recently that Egypt’s security is an integral part of its security and expresses its support for Egypt’s right to protect its western borders from terrorism.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Kingdom’s government affirms that Egypt’s security is an integral part of the security of Saudi Arabia and the entire Arab nation, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

That affirming came as an appending to the statement of  KSA’  government support to the Cairo Declaration Initiative on Libya, which was announced on the sixth of June 2020, which sought a political solution to the Libyan crisis, ceasefire , bloodshed, and preserving the territorial integrity of Libya, including Assumed by the national interest in Libya .

The Kingdom expresses its support for the statement of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi that Egypt has the right to protect its western borders from terrorism.

Saudi Arabia calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities and respond to the calls and initiative of President Sisi to reach a comprehensive solution that confirms the safety and security of Libyan lands, restore institutions, eliminate terrorism, extremist militias, and put an end to illegal foreign interventions that fuel terrorism in the region.

The UAE also expressed, on Saturday evening, its support for what was stated in the speech of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Sidi Barani regarding Libya.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed the solidarity of the UAE and its support for Egypt in all its measures to protect its security and stability from the repercussions of the disturbing developments in Libya.

The ministry valued the Egyptian efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement in Libya, especially the Cairo initiative, which is consistent with all international decisions, according to the Emirati News Agency “WAM”.

WAM stressed that President Sisi’s concern for the need to restore security and stability on the Libyan scene stems from an authentic Arab orientation as an integral part of Egypt’s security and stability and Arab national security.
