Saudi Arabia Denounces Israel’s Burning of a Hospital in Gaza

Saudi Arabia condemned the burning of Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza by the Israeli forces, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

On Friday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Kingdom expresses “its condemnation and denunciation, in the strongest terms possible, of the burning of a hospital in Gaza by Israeli forces and the forced evacuation of patients and medical staff.”

The Foreign Ministry added that “these acts constitute a violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the most fundamental humanitarian and ethical norms.”

Kamal Adwan hospital was one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza. On Friday, Israeli forces stormed the hospital, ordering its patients and staff to evacuate, the Associated Press (AP) reported citing Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The Israeli troops forced medical staff and patients to assemble in the hospital’s courtyard, removed their clothes, and took some of them to an unknown location.

The Health Ministry added that the Israeli troops set fire to several parts of the hospital, including the lab and surgery department.

On the other hand, the Israeli military said it was conducting operations against Hamas infrastructure and militants in the area, denying claims it had entered or set fire to the complex.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) said the raid “has put this last major health facility in north Gaza out of service.” It wrote on X: “Initial reports indicate that some key departments were severely burnt and destroyed during the raid.”
