Saudi Arabia and Norway sign MoU to enhance bilateral relations
The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, met with his Norwegian colleague Eni Ericsson via video connection, and the two nations signed a memorandum of understanding for political discussions. The goal of the memorandum is to promote the two nations’ collaboration and friendship in order to expand their horizons and help them achieve their goals.
According to the Saudi Foreign Minister, the two countries collaborate in many areas, including oil and energy sector cooperation, renewable energy, climate change, investment, and tourism.
He stated that the two nations recognize the value of fostering discussion and diplomatic solutions to international issues, as well as adherence to international law norms, peaceful cohabitation, good neighborliness, and attaining world peace and security.
He expressed Saudi Arabia’s wish that Norway, through its non-permanent membership in the Security Council, contributes to making the necessary diplomatic efforts to promote peace and security in the region, as well as to confront the aggressive and provocative policies pursued by some regional powers, who do not respect international law and good neighborliness.
He also underlined the Kingdom’s desire for the Norwegian government to assist its proposal to resolve the Yemeni conflict in a way that promotes regional security and stability, as well as world peace and security.
Saudi Arabia is working tirelessly to realize its “Vision 2030,” whose main axes are improving the quality of life, empowering women and youth, and creating an environment that unlocks business potential, expands the economic base, and creates job opportunities, according to Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
The introduction of the “Green Saudi Arabia” and “Green Middle East” projects, as well as the acceptance of the idea of a carbon circular economy, indicate that the Kingdom’s economic efforts combine encouraging growth with sustainable approaches to conserving the environment.
He stated that Saudi Arabia believes “Vision 2030” would influence the region, enhancing growth and prosperity while also contributing favorably to the global economy.
