Saudi Alzheimer’s Disease Association Launches Awareness Campaign in Sept.

Marking World Alzheimer’s Month, the Saudi Alzheimer’s Disease Association has launched an awareness-raising campaign during September, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The campaign aims to raise health and social awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. It is held in collaboration with more than 300 organizations and entities across Saudi Arabia.

It will feature online lectures and workshops that focus on highlighting the scientific aspects of the disease. These workshops, presented by specialized doctors, aim to raise the public’s knowledge about the symptoms and how to deal with patients.

Moreover, the campaign will hold visual art exhibitions that depict disease’s phases, in malls, hospitals and hotels, to raise awareness of the disease, patient’s rights, and methods of handling patients. Furthermore, it will introduce ways to provide material and emotional support for caregivers.

Additionally, the campaign will highlight the Association efforts to raise awareness about prevention and diagnosis methods, and the services provided to the patients’ families, including medical equipment and medicines.

The Saudi Alzheimer’s Disease Association aims to raise public awareness by holding awareness campaigns and educational seminars through all available media. It also aims to provide support to patients and their families.

Moreover, the Association aims to forge strategic partnerships between scientific, health, research, media, and private sector institutions. It also celebrates the World Alzheimer’s Month, marked in September each year, to shed more light on the disease.

The World Alzheimer’s Month is an international campaign that focuses on changing perceptions about the disease and increasing public knowledge about Alzheimer’s and dementia.
