Saudi Al-Dayer celebrates Khawlani Coffee Festival
The largest public carnival, The Ninth Saudi “Khawlani” Coffee Festival, took place in Al-Dayer Governorate.
The event honors the crops of farms that specialize in producing Saudi Khawlani coffee, with Al-Dayer serving as the product’s cultural capital for the past eight seasons.
In the current edition of the festival, 150 farmers are participating.
According to SPA, the Al-Dayer governorate, which is located on the eastern outskirts of the Jazan region, has the most farms and Saudi Khawlani coffee trees in Saudi Arabia.
There are 994 farms with about 218,000 coffee trees, producing over 600,000 kilos of Saudi Khawlani coffee per year.
The governorate’s farms are striving for excellence through the project to repair agricultural terraces, which has resulted in the rehabilitation of 589 farms.
The Saudi Khawlani Coffee Festival is now taking place in Al-Dayer Governorate from January 22 to January 28.
The festival takes place in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture’s program “The Year of Saudi Coffee 2022 ,” which honors Saudi coffee as a cultural and historical treasure.
