Ronaldo Brace Fires Al-Nassr to Derby Victory over Al-Hilal

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice, inspiring Al-Nassr to a 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Al-Hilal in the 26th week of the Saudi Pro League on Friday, reigniting their title hopes while narrowing Al-Hilal’s lead to three points.

Midfielder Ali Al-Hassan stunned the Kingdom Arena with a first-half stoppage time stunning long-range strike after a Marcelo Brozovic corner routine, handing Al-Nassr a halftime lead. However, Ronaldo then doubled the advantage two minutes after the break, slotting home from Sadio Mané’s counter-attack assist.

Derby Drama and VAR Controversy

Al-Hilal fought back when Ali Al-Bulayhi powered in a 62nd-minute header, but VAR awarded Al-Nassr a late penalty for Moteb Al-Harbi’s handball. Ronaldo calmly converted from the spot, sealing his second goal and the win in the 88th minute.

Al-Hilal pressed fiercely late, with Marcos Leonardo wasting two chances in stoppage time. Despite their efforts, the hosts couldn’t equalize, leaving Al-Nassr’s title hopes revitalized.

With eight games remaining, Al-Nassr now sit third on 54 points, trailing Al-Hilal by just three. The Riyadh giants now eye a late-season surge, fueled by Ronaldo’s double.

This fiery Capital Derby showcased Al-Nassr’s clinical edge, while Al-Hilal rue defensive lapses in a match that reshapes the Saudi Pro League title battle.
