Riyadh Metro to Operate from 5:30 AM Daily amid Growing Passenger Demand

Riyadh’s Public Transport Authority announced that the city’s metro will now start running at 5:30 a.m. daily, a schedule adjustment designed to better accommodate students, workers, and early-morning travelers, according to Gulf News.

The step comes in response to rising passenger demand and is an integral part of the capital’s broader push to decrease reliance on private cars, ease traffic congestion, as well as improve the efficiency of daily mobility across Riyadh.

Since opening in December, Riyadh Metro has quickly positioned itself as a cornerstone of Riyadh’s transport network, carrying over 100 million passengers, according to the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.

The project represents a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s public transportation system bringing new horizons of innovation, comfort, as well as sustainability.

In the light of this, the Riyadh Metro serves as the cornerstone in Saudi Arabia’s pursuit to build an advanced urban future characterized by connectivity and innovation.

Interestingly, the designs perfectly align with sustainability standards with a special focus on the proper use of environmentally friendly materials. Therefore, it stands as a testament to the project’s vision towards elevating the urban environment.

Crucially, passengers may identify destinations and purchase tickets through the “Darb” mobile application and ticket offices as well as self-service machines at the stations.
