Riyadh Fashion Week 2025 showcases Saudi Arabia’s vibrant and evolving fashion landscape, where traditional heritage meets creativity and innovation.
The current edition welcomes Saudi powerhouses Atelier Hekayat and Abadia with elegant shows highlighting the strength and sophistication of homegrown design.
Atelier Hekayat
Atelier Hekayat unveiled its latest collection on Thursday with a poetic, theatrical showcase titled “A Ticket to the Theater.” The show was inspired by the transformative magic of performance.
“This collection is a tribute to every soul who has ever stood behind the curtain,” Alia and Abeer Oraif, the sister designers, told Arab News.
Through fluid silhouettes, bold cuts, and intricate embellishments, the collection represented a tribute to the creative forces who bring stories to life — both in theater and in fashion.
“We wanted to celebrate the moment a woman embraces herself with love and grace,” they explained.
They also described the event as “a celebration of our journey — of who we are and where we come from.”
Abadia
Meanwhile, Saudi label Abadia showcased a stunning collection that blend heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary elegance.
The designs showed voluminous silhouettes and refined layering, crafted from sumptuous fabrics such as silk, velvet, and wool.
To evoke a sense of warmth and quiet strength, the designs depended on earth-toned palette, offering an exceptional blend between browns, creams, and golds with muted pastels and deep burgundy.
“This collection is very personal to me. It is inspired by my grandfather’s story when he was young and ventured into the sea to mark his coming of age,” said Shahd Al-Shehail, who co-founded the brand with her aunt, Naeema Al-Shehail.
“It reminded me of what it means to choose courage over comfort. To surrender, and to embrace the unknown,” she added.
She also mentioned that the collection was inspired by the legacy of the Kingdom’s pearl diving communities, honoring the resilience of the women who upheld their households during the men’s extended voyages at sea.
